At Seaham Metals Limited we have more than 3 decades of recycling scrap metal experience. Over the years we have seen our scrap yard grow in size. To accommodate this, we have a 40-tonne weighbridge which makes it quick and easy to weigh off scrap metal brought into our yard. Following changes to the scrap metal dealers act, in 2012, we require a photographic ID when processing payment, so please make sure you bring this along with you so payment can be completed swiftly. Payment methods include same-day bank transfer or cheque. We have a range of large skips that can be hired out for large collections of scrap metal, please get in touch for skip prices and availability
Meet Our Team
Rolph
Rolph established Seaham Metals Limited in 1979, turning into a limited company in 2012. He has been a respectable part of Seaham Harbour community all his life, always helping out where he can, sponsoring local football teams, and providing the Fire Service with free training equipment.
Scrap metal is all Rolph has ever known, he has lived and worked scrap metal all his life. He is the main buyer and seller at the business and you will often find him in and around the yard or in the machine sorting and grading ferrous metals.
Kellie
Kellie has worked for her father at Seaham Metals Limited since 2011 and became a director in 2012. Kellie works on the front desk processing weight tickets and completing bank transfers. She is a qualified Environmental Agency Officer ensuring Seaham Metals Limited complies with essential legislation.
Jade
Jade has worked part-time for Seaham Metals Limited most of her life, firstly alongside her grandfather helping to process the Business Accounts before taking them over solely in 2010. Jade also became a director in 2012 when the business became a limited company. She often works behind the scenes with the accounts and advertising but occasionally helps out on the front desk when required.
Richy
Richy is the newest member of the team at Seaham Metals Limited. He works in the yard, sorting ferrous and non-ferrous metals. He helps to keep the yard tidy and operates the yard forklift truck.
Note: Since the cash ban was enforced on 3rd December 2012, all customers now need to supply photo identification and proof of address before payments can be made. We pay by cheque only.
